Bulletin Board and Blog Information
The
Bulletin Boards
There
are several ways to make
contact with one another, keep in touch and arrange exchanges. The one
most people will use is the Bulletin Board. The Bulletin Board is a
great place for participants to ask each other questions, share success
stories, and find places to send My Travel Teddies. Check out Kids Talk!
Registering:
Before you register at the Bulletin Boards,
this is important...
Unfortunately,
many spammers are trying to create accounts on the Bulletin Boards.
It's very difficult for me to tell the difference between legitimate
applicants and spammers. Therefore, to be sure I don't inadvertently
delete legitimate participants, when you create your account BE SURE the Username you choose has the suffix of -Teacher, or -Homeschooler or -Librarian or whatever you are after your name. For example, my Username could be Dale Hubert-Teacher.
It's a bit of a nuisance, but I feel it will make the Bulletin Board
more secure for serious participants. If the "-Teacher" or
"-Homeschooler" isn't there, I'll assume I'm dealing with a spammer and
delete it.
Special
Bulletin Boards or Blogs:
For
groups that are interested, I could create custom Bulletin Boards or Blogs. For
example, a corporation might decide to use My Travel Teddy as a
team-building exercise or a way for different divisions world-wide to
keep in touch. Contact Dale
Hubert for more information on creating a
personalized Bulletin Board.
The
Blogs:
Much of the site is blog-based.
That means you can create an account and add comments and pictures. To
begin with, you will have Contributor status which means you can create
posts but they won't be visible to the public until they have been
approved. This is a security feature. Participants may request an
upgrade to Author status which will allow you to post directly without
waiting for approval.
